About the B1 Teenager course

  • Courses are aimed at teenagers aged between 13-17 years with elementary knowledge of Greek. Your children can study Greek in a relaxed pace but also with the option to prepare for the Greek Language Certification Exams. Courses are annual, but enrollment season will be open until January 2026, in which case a short preparatory course may take place to ensure that your child can keep up with the rest of the group.
  • Students completing the course are ready to participate in the B1 Greek Language Certification Exams (extra self-study may be required).
  • 2 classes per week (1 class = 100 mins).
  • Minimal to moderate need for self-study (1-3 hours per week -more in case of Certification Exam preparation).

Learning outcomes

Upon completion of the B1 (Intermediate) course, your children will be able to:

  • Understand the main points of clear standard input on topics they frequently encounter—school, leisure, etc.—both spoken and written.
  • Manage most situations while traveling in Greek-speaking contexts—asking for help, planning, understanding notices, etc.
  • Produce simple connected text on topics that interest them or are personal.
  • Narrate experiences, events, dreams, hopes, and ambitions, giving reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.
  • Participate in conversations on familiar topics, exchanging information, comparing ideas, and discussing simple viewpoints.
  • Engage more deeply with contemporary Greek culture, through articles, media, conversation, and cultural traditions.
