About the A1 Intensive course

  • These fast-track courses are designed for motivated beginners that need to quickly learn how to use Greek and/or aim to pass the Greek Language Certification Exams (occurring every May). With a structured curriculum, frequent assessments, and expert guidance, you’ll build the skills and confidence needed to succeed—fast.
  • Students completing the course are ready to participate in the A1 Greek Language Certification Exams.
  • 2 classes per week (1 class = 100 mins).
  • Minimal to moderate need for self-study (3-5 hours per week).

Learning outcomes

Upon completion of the A1 (Beginner) course, you will be able to:

  • Understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type.
  • Introduce yourself and others and ask and answer questions about personal details (where you come from, where you live, people you know, preferences).
  • Interact simply—provided the speaker talks slowly, clearly, and is ready to help.
  • Manage simple, everyday communicative situations on topics such as home, work, family, daily routine, food, likes, dislikes, describing people, shopping and much more.
  • Experience various aspects of modern Greek culture.
