About the Β1 Regular courses

  • Start becoming an independent user of Modern Greek at a relaxed pace. Learn useful phrases, cultural insights, and practical vocabulary while having ample time for revisions. Ideal for travelers, hobbyists, or anyone with a busy schedule.
  • Students completing both courses are ready to participate in the B1 Greek Language Certification Exams (extra self-study may be required).
  • 2 classes per week (1 class = 100 mins).
  • Minimal need for self-study (1-2 hours per week – more if a student is interested in taking the Certification Exams).

Learning outcomes

Upon completion of all B1 courses (B1.a, B1.b & B1.c), you will be able to:

  • Understand the main points of clear standard input on topics you frequently encounter—work, school, leisure, etc.—both spoken and written.
  • Manage most situations while traveling in Greek-speaking contexts—asking for help, planning, understanding notices, etc.
  • Produce simple connected text on topics that interest you or are personal.
  • Narrate experiences, events, dreams, hopes, and ambitions, giving reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.
  • Participate in conversations on familiar topics, exchanging information, comparing ideas, and discussing simple viewpoints.
  • Engage more deeply with contemporary Greek culture, through articles, media, conversation, and cultural traditions.
